About Electric Peacock Festival
Welcome to Electric Peacock Festival, Sri Lanka’s biggest live international music and performing arts showcase featuring Grammy award winning headliners, fresh cutting edge acts and local all-stars. Launched in 2010 and now in its fourth year, Electric Peacock has pioneered a new multi-genre music platform with headlining artists from around the world such as Roger Sanchez, Basement Jaxx and most recently Tinie Tempah with 5,000 attendees last time. Other notable acts on our line up have been New Young Pony Club, Duke Spirit, Trophy Wife, Chicane, BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal, Muku, Asvajit and Julius Mitchell and many others.
Electric Peacock is all about creativity, experiential entertainment and engaging audiences on multiple levels – the key being giving people new music and multi-genre experiences. We have pioneered firsts such as costume tents, Sri Lanka’s first ever Silent Disco, sub-culture collaborations with cultural creators, live art installations, hosted skaters and breakdancer’s with much more for the island’s wide and entertainment hungry audiences.
Co-founded and creatively produced by two Sri Lankan sisters, Leah and Tasha, who have a vision for bringing fresh new music to their beloved island, the festival was born during the summer of 2009 at Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. Right in the middle of a reunion set by Pyramid Stage headliner Blur, to be specific.
They have worked on the MTV EMA’s, for music promoters such as Harvey Goldsmith and across multiple music festivals in the UK such as Glastonbury for 5 years, Latitude, Reading and Leeds for Festival Republic having produced installations and backstage VIP parties.
Putting all that experience into bringing credibility to the entertainment scene in Sri Lanka, partnering with credible agencies and artist management and international festivals in the region, the fantastic EPF team have great plans for changing the game on our tropical island.
